Following their joint acquisition of Marc Jacobs from LVMH, brand management firm WHP Global and license operator G-III Apparel Group have signed a major licensing agreement with Hong Kong fashion retail giant IT Group to hand over Marc Jacobs' existing regional operating assets and full control of its retail footprint across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to the group.

The move marks the first international licensing deal signed since WHP Global and G-III assumed control of the luxury fashion label.

Capturing renewed luxury consumption across East Asia

IT Group will leverage its network of over 280 regional points of sale to integrate Marc Jacobs products across digital platforms, standalone boutiques, shops-in-shop, and wholesale distribution. With WHP Global generating over $9.5 billion in annual retail sales globally, the partnership aims to capture renewed luxury consumption across East Asia.

With our omnichannel platform, deep local market knowledge, and nearly four decades of experience building international fashion brands in the region, we see significant potential to accelerate the brand's growth, says Sham Kar Wai, Founder and Chairman, IT Group.

Targeting high-growth luxury markets

Founded in 1984, Marc Jacobs is a luxury fashion house operating across ready-to-wear apparel, leather goods, footwear, and accessories. Following its transition from LVMH to WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group, the brand is targeting high-growth luxury markets. Marc Jacobs continues expanding its global presence through long-term geographic licensing and direct-to-consumer digital channels.
