Zara has also teamed up with Galy, another US-based start-up pioneering a process to produce cotton in laboratories from plant cells, eliminating the need for traditional cotton farming and its associated environmental impact
Meanwhile, Inditex has committed to making 25 per cent of its garments from new fibers that do not yet exist on an industrial scale, and is investing heavily in their development, say media report.
